Custom stickers look great on everything from water bottles and helmets to vehicles and signage, but curved surfaces can present a unique challenge. Whether you’re branding a product or decorating equipment, getting stickers to sit smoothly takes the right materials and technique.
At Stickers International, we offer a range of high-quality vinyl sticker products, including High Tack Vinyl Stickers designed for difficult surface and custom vinyl stickers that can be made in virtually any shape and size to suit your project.
Choose the Right Material
For curved surfaces, flexible vinyl with a strong adhesive is key. Our High Tack Vinyl Stickers feature am extra-strong permanent adhesive that helps them stick securely to smooth, slightly curved surfaces. Standard vinyl also works well, but high-tack options are often best where adhesion and durability are prioritized.
Prepare Your Surface
Ensure the area is clean, dry, and free from grease or dust. Dirt and oil can prevent proper bonding and lead to the sticker bubbling or lifting.
Smooth Application Technique
Start applying your sticker from the centre and smooth outward, working gently around the curve. For larger or more pronounced curves, warming the vinyl slightly with a hair dryer can make it more pliable and help it conform to the shape without creasing.
Custom Shapes for Curves
Consider custom-contoured cuts for shapes that hug curves more naturally. Simple shapes like circles or ovals can also conform to curves more easily than large rectangles.
With the right product (and a little patience) your stickers can look amazing on almost any surface, flat or curved.
